I often tell my neighbour that the life that we live here in the bundus, you sometimes "cannot make it up". So Friday I fetched some flowers from the shed (not many or a variety this time of the year) to give to one of my regular guests. I took my shears with to cut a bit of foliage from the garden and arranged it on the flap of the bakkie. Then I went to Disa cottage to prepare it for the incoming guests, only to find the stoep completely trashed by the badboons. This after it had taken me an hour to clean it (also after a badboon trash) the day before. Then I went to "strip" Erica cottage after guests have left (laundry, garbage etc), only to find quite a bit of unwashed dishes. I decided to wash up while the water was still hot (we switch the electricity off) since we will only be cleaning there the following Wednesday. At last, on my way home, I noticed some blue trash on The Voorberg (can see valley below from there), so I stopped to pick it up. It turned out to be Disa cottage's stoep pillow carried away by the badboons. The previous guests must have left it outside. I was truly and utterly stupefied. Now that is quite a distance from the cottage. I have noticed that they love bright colours. They even opened the still intact zip and just left two holes, as a reminder, in the sponge, perfectly salvageable. As you can see, the dogs thought the badboon aromas were de"n"icious ("n" for nose).
