STATEMENT OF AYU PRESIDENT TIM MUGERWA ON THE PASSING AWAY OF PRESIDENT NELSON MANDELA.

December 6, 2013

The African Youth Union (AYU) is deeply saddened by the passing on of the world’s most respected icon, President Nelson Mandela.

His amazing contribution to this world did not segregate people in their ages, he served all, children and youth were all welcome to him.

He lived an exemplary life from his childhood up to this time when the Lord has called him. His dedication to liberating Africans at such a young age is a true inspiration to the youth of today.

There are no good words that can explain the enormous success and the rich legacy President Mandela has left for us. In him we have hope that a total free Africa is possible.

He did not see politics as a job but as a calling to serve his people, he initiated and engaged in many philanthropic projects to improve the welfare and living conditions for all. Such traits can only be present in a true leader.

President Mandela will always be remembered by the youth of Africa and will remain our inspiration.

Rest in Peace Nelson Mandela

God bless Africa
