March 12 & 13 – very busy days 04h20-01h00 shifts
Had a fantastic group of guys staying with us, breakfasts suppers and braai. The Highveld Cape Inn played host to K2 Seed Suppliers. This group is based in Outshoorn but these gentlemen were from all over the country. They supply seed to farmers on a large scale. This makes for very interesting conversations on farming and the problems facing the community. If these guys are involved there is much hope, as they are great ambassadors for their company, very professional in all aspect we were able to observe, and very kind and friendly.
It was a true pleasure to host them. I played barman and general dogsbody, with Kinna being instrumental with all the other arrangements. She is a Chef par excellence, and I thank her for all her effort. She is also a wonderful host. The Highveld Cape is an ideal venue for medium sized groups to it their home for periods of time. a Wedding at the Highveld Cape Inn

Saturday 7 December was another busy day at the Highveld Cape Inn. It was an all-day affair with Eskom load shedding from 6-10 in the morning but luckily nothing for the rest of the day. They must have been feeling guilty for the 3 sessions of the previous day.
The Highveld Cape can run the full venue’s (eskom independent) electricity demand should there be a function/wedding during a power outage.
Preparation started early in the day with the lighting of the pizza oven and main dish of slow roasted lamb on a spit. 60+ persons arrived and were treated to pizzas prepared by our 2 excellent pizza chefs, ending with full blown dinner of lamb and paraphernalia.
The bar was manned by Angelo and Fernando. Despite having the 2 barmen with support from Kinna and Lawrence we were kept very busy till the death throws at around midnight. The rainy day did not dampen the spirits, of the guests. Fires provided a warm atmosphere for those in and outside.
The Highveld Cape wishes to thank Monique and Gert together with their respective families for a memorable outing.

Sunday 1 December was going to be a busy day. Breakfast for many, in batches with staff having an off weekend. Luckily it was a beautiful day and we are geared to handle a served breakfast as well as a buffet.
Classical music, smell of coffee, a slight breeze and a greeting of a new batch of nature’s delight in white format set the scene.
All went well with a compliment that the website and photos don’t do the Highveld Cape justice. The atmosphere and serenity is somewhat unique so close to the city. Thanks to all our visitors for being such exemplary guests. The buffet crowd enjoyed a served dinner around the Boma the previous evening and remained on the grounds well into Sunday morning.
