Our chalets are designed to reflect the natural beauty and simplicity of the bushveld. The larger, original chalets were built in the traditional straw-and-daub style, while the newer, more intimate chalets retain that same charming adobe character, complete with reed ceilings and tin roofs that our guests have come to love. Our two larger chalets — Hoopoo (Hoepoe) and Kingfisher (Visvanger) — comfortably accommodate up to seven guests (5 adults & 2 children). Each features:
A private bedroom with a king-size bed
Three single beds in the upstairs loft
A viewing deck overlooking the bushveld
Two single-sized couch beds in the lounge
Electricity, bath/shower, separate toilet, and outdoor showers
The Kingfisher Chalet also includes a walled open-air bathroom with a large soaking tub and toilet, perfect for relaxing while taking in the tranquil bushveld views. Romantic & Cosy Chalets
Our two smaller chalets — Plover (Kiewiet) and Bushbaby (Nagapie) — are ideal for couples or small families, sleeping two adults and one child comfortably. Each chalet offers:
A queen or king-size bed (respectively)
A single-sized couch bed in the lounge
Open-plan living area with divider wall
Electricity, bath/shower, separate toilet, and a private splash tub on the patio
A wood-burning stove for those chilly winter nights
Explore & Unwind at Adama
Guests are welcome to enjoy our central farm-style swimming dam, located a short drive from the chalets. Because Adama is fenced off from the main reserve, guests can safely explore on foot — enjoy leisurely bush walks, cycling, birdwatching, or family picnics within our 21 hectares of natural bushveld surroundings. (Please note: no fires or braais are permitted outside designated chalet boma areas.) Bush Braais & Comforts
Each chalet includes a private boma braai area with an initial complimentary bag of wood (enough for the first night). A convenience shop just 3 km away stocks additional wood, drinks, and snacks. We kindly ask that guests do not collect firewood from the surrounding bush. Fully Equipped for Self-Catering
All kitchens are fully equipped with:
A fridge, gas stove, microwave, kettle, and crockery
Many items of furniture and décor are handcrafted by the owners, adding a personal touch to each chalet
Linen is provided, but guests are requested to bring their own towels and toiletries (such as shampoo, soap, etc.). Adama Chalets is proudly eco-friendly and runs on solar power — so you can enjoy a peaceful, load-shedding-free stay in harmony with nature. 🌿
