That’s not how I feel about camping at all! 😄 I absolutely love the outdoors, getting away from the busy life, and enjoying what nature has to offer. 🏕️🔥🌄 For me, camping is about the adventure, peace and making great memories!

Fellow campers, Lefokeng Bush Camp has changed its rules, and I’d love to hear what you think. 🏕️

Do you agree with the new approach, or do you feel it takes something away from the camping experience? Sometimes we all want a family-friendly camping spot, while other times we just need a bit of peace, quiet and bush sounds to recharge. 🌿🔥

Kindly take note that our rule around younger kids has unfortunalty changed.
Previously we did allow kids under 12, after having a discussion with parents round the support needed on our NUMBER 1 priority rule: Peace and quiet for all our campers to enjoy the bushveld environment.
This arrangement has proven not to work in the last couple of months 😭

We are celebrating the 15th birthday of Dinokeng Game Reserve — a place that began with a courageous vision and grew into something truly extraordinary.

What started small has become a thriving Big Five wilderness, where elephants roam, lions call through the night, rhinos raise their calves and unforgettable memories are made beneath the African sky.

Dinokeng is more than a game reserve. It is a story of conservation, determination and people working together to protect our wildlife for generations to come.

What better way to celebrate this special birthday than by remembering The King of Dinokeng, Marakele — a magnificent symbol of strength, pride and the wild spirit that makes this reserve so special. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him and in the wilderness he helped define.

We feel incredibly blessed to live and work within this remarkable reserve and to witness its beauty every day.

Happy Birthday, Dinokeng Game Reserve! Here’s to every footprint, every roar and every wild adventure still to come.

We’re excited to let you know that Camp Trip Tips is heading to Kokoriba Wildreservaat for our next camping adventure! 🏕️🚙📸

Kokoriba is situated in the North West Province near Brits and offers a beautiful Bosveld getaway where you can relax, enjoy nature and spend quality time outdoors. 🌳🦌

There is plenty to see and do, including:
🦅 Bird watching – with 300+ recorded bird species
🦌 Wildlife viewing and game drives
🎣 Fishing at the dam

🛰️ SATELLITE INTERNET IS COMING TO SOUTH AFRICA! 🇿🇦

For all my fellow campers, overlanders and outdoor enthusiasts — this could be something worth watching! ⛺🔥

Amazon is bringing its Amazon Leo satellite internet service to South Africa through Herotel’s new service, evry, with commercial launch targeted for 2027.

It works on a similar principle to Starlink: a small antenna connects to satellites in low Earth orbit, giving you internet without needing fibre cables or cellphone towers. 📡

And this could be very interesting for camping! Imagine having your own Wi-Fi connection at a campsite — perfect for staying connected, checking maps, uploading photos and videos, working remotely, or simply keeping the family connected while you’re out in the bush. 🏕️📱💻

The evry website currently shows two antenna options:
🔹 Nano – up to 100 Mbps
🔹 Pro – up to 300 Mbps

You’ll need a clear view of the sky, which should make many open camping areas suitable.

The service is expected to launch in South Africa in 2027, and you can already register your interest.
