Repos Trouve Hidden away in Nuwe Street, Prince Albert, is a gem of a True Karoo cottage that offers authentic self catering accommodation.

The style of the cottage is based on an old French phrase, “Repos Trouvè” which means, “True place of Rest”. The main bedroom leads out onto the spacious, farmstyle shaded stoep where one can easily lay around for hours gazing at the Swartberg Mountains or even enjoy alfresco dinners. Two other bedrooms, each with their own unique charm, offers an abundance of space.

SPCA where were you with the necessary enforcement to rescue this traumatised sheep? You have the authority and it is not acceptable that the laws of this country are broken because the powers that be are intimidated by threats of rioting. Anarchy and cruelty. Feel sick over the barbaric treatment of this animal and total lack of respect for all concerned. God help us heal the hatred that is dividing our precious country and her citzens.

The 23rd To Hell and Back, the oldest stage race in South Africa with its first event taking place in 1995 - is taking place this weekend - on 18 and 19 November. Mountain bikers will take on the 60 km (not to be taken lightly) route into “Die Hell”, spend the night there and share the war stories of the day. On Sunday morning they will take on the 60 km route back out of “Die Hell” with Elands Pass as a rude awakening! Are you ready to tackle the longest mountain pass in SA on your bicycle?

The 27 km Swartberg Pass, considered one of the most spectacular mountain passes in the world, is open every weekend from Thursday afternoon at 17:00 to 08:00 on a Monday morning. This follows repair work on 2 km of the pass that was washed away in a flash flood on 9 April this year.
