On Friday night there is something extra special -

The Karoo Kos-&-Geesfees is lighting up the streets of the dorpie. In conjunction with the wonderful weekend of art that is Prince Albert Open Studios the town plans to close part of the main road, is lighting the braais and turning up the tunes. Join us for bobotie and braai, dominoes and dancing, marshmallows, a bokdrol spoeg competition, boules, the town's famous rieldansers who'll make some magic in the dust and some of the town's artists who'll have their work on display. Taste some of the museum's local witblits and watch a shooting star or three.

Entrance is R10 (kids free). Please bring cash as stalls won't have access to credit card machines. Strict Covid protocols observed.

The ALL RIDE crew recently stayed at Karoo Khaya while they conquered the new Karoo Crossing Cycle Route from Calitzdorp to Knysna. (Calling the Swartberg in the middle a "significant bump in the road"....indeed!)

Watch along as these three (, and ) launch headfirst into this 3 day epic - 350+ km, 7000m vertical, 3 days. Negligible training done. And some dodgy navigation along the way.

Dust off your bike and head to the Karoo people - these roads are perfect for long stretches of gravel grinding.

On a cycle tour through the Cape you’ll experience an abundance of natural beauty, warm welcomes and epic adventures, all on our network of good gravel and tar roads, forest trails and single track.

Looking forward to future!

A boom in “low-viral tourism” is likely to be one of the trends that emerges when the dust settles on Covid-19 — and the Karoo is perfectly placed to capitalise on that opportunity.
