De Bergkant is a historical Cape Dutch Guest House located in the beautiful, historical town of Prince Albert at the foot of the dramatic Swartberg mountains in the Great Karoo. De Bergkant offers their guests four luxurious Suites with lounge, bedroom and en-suite bathroom, and five equally well-appointed luxurious Double Rooms with en-suite bathroom. All rooms have ceiling fans, air-conditioning

, tea- and coffee facilities, TV (with DStv Premium) and most have under-floor heating. All the bathrooms have double showers, Victorian baths and under-floor heating for chilly winter days (which occur just occasionally). Breakfast for our guests is served either inside in our poolside dining room or on the pool terrace. Much of our fare on our breakfast buffet comes from the village and local farms in and around Prince Albert. The secluded gardens boast two large saltwater swimming pools: a 15m pool and a 10m walled, private pool. We also offer a sauna and steam bath and hidden in a private garden you will find a small "star" bath.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers who have stayed with us, who will come to stay, and to those who support and form part of our De Bergkant family.

We are so grateful for the role mothers play in all of our lives, and today feels even more special as our own De Bergkant family is growing too — owners Tara and Bronnie are expecting, and Bronnie will soon step into the beautiful role of becoming a mother too.

What a privilege it already is to carry this child, and in many ways, it has become part of our why — slowly easing away from full time cheffing and creating a slower, more meaningful life and space where we can raise our child between Italy and the magic of Prince Albert.
