Just beyond the city bustle, a quiet country road leads to a market unlike any other.
Welcome to The Wild Fork, where food, craft, and nature meet in perfect rhythm.
The day begins softly. Early light spills through the trees as early risers, cyclists, and trail runners coast in from their morning rides, drawn by the promise of good coffee and warm, buttery things. Conversations start at communal tables, steam curling from takeaway cups, the kind of morning that doesn’t rush you anywhere.
As the sun climbs, families arrive — picnic blankets in hand, kids tugging at sleeves, already spotting the inflatables and face painters set beneath the oaks. There’s room to run, room to taste, room to breathe.
By afternoon, the energy shifts again. Glasses clink in the craft beer garden. Delicious, local wines are poured by the people who love them. You find yourself caught in conversation with a brewer, or lost in a stall filled with hand-thrown ceramics or wildflower candles. The music never demands attention — it drifts. Acoustic strings, soft vocals, the occasional laugh carried by the breeze.
The Wild Fork isn’t about hustle. It’s about quality. About taking the time to wander, taste, and connect — with the land, the makers, and each other.
The Wild Fork runs 30 & 31 August, from 8am to 6pm daily.
Entry is R30 for adults and R20 for under 18s.
A market, yes. But not like the others. This is a meander.
