Some transformations completely redefine a space.

Before La Casa Blanca became a guesthouse, The Travellers Room was a dated secretary’s office - small, enclosed and disconnected from the garden just beyond its walls.

During the renovation, we broke through the exterior wall and extended the room by more than a metre onto the existing patio. That single architectural change transformed everything.

The room became larger, lighter and far more connected to its surroundings, with natural light pouring in and direct access to the patio and lush garden beyond.

What was once an office is now a quiet, light-filled guest room and one of La Casa Blanca’s biggest transformations.

After a few weeks of renovations, we’ve finally completed the updates to The Travellers Room at La Casa Blanca.

We’ve increased the size of the room, refreshed the interiors and completely updated the bathroom, including a modern hexagon feature wall and a spacious walk-in shower.

The Travellers Room is now a Luxury Patio Room, with direct access to the ground-floor patio and beautiful garden views.

More space, a fresh new look and a quiet retreat overlooking the garden.

We’re very happy with how it turned out and can’t wait to welcome our first guests into the newly updated space.

As Spring approaches, the glass Jacuzzi Pavilion has been given a facelift after a few years of neglect. The installation of two stacking doors has opened the space onto the lower patio, creating one large entertainment area with a seamless connection between the glass box and outside.

The tired timber decking has also been replaced with timeless terrazzo tiles, extending the same elegant finish across every exterior patio on the property. The result is a cohesive outdoor space that feels more refined, durable and connected.

With uninterrupted views across Bryanston, Sandton, Rosebank and the iconic Parkview Golf Course, the glass jacuzzi pavilion has become the focal point of the lower terrace. The redesigned space makes the most of its spectacular view, creating a relaxed setting that is as practical as it is inviting.

When we purchased the property, we also acquired a selection of furniture from the estate, knowing that furnishing a home like this would be a gradual journey rather than an overnight transformation.
While not every piece reflected our personal style, it gave us a wonderful foundation to build on. Yellow walls, red couches, checkered curtains... but the bones were solid.
Over time, with patience, a lick of paint, treasured second-hand finds, skilled upholsterers, and beautifully hand-made curtains, we're slowly but surely transforming La Casa Blanca into a space that truly reflects it's own unique style - one room, and one piece, at a time.

La Casa Blanca overlooks the 3rd hole of the beautiful Parkview Golf Club South Africa. While visiting the clubhouse over the weekend, we came across this stunning watercolour painting of the course hanging on the wall.

My eagle eye immediately spotted La Casa Blanca, immortalised in the painting, standing proudly above the 3rd hole. A wonderful reminder that La Casa Blanca has been a familiar landmark overlooking the course for many years.

There is a certain comfort that can't be manufactured.

It's found in the scent of old books resting quietly on wooden shelves, the rich aroma of real leather that has softened with time, and the warmth of a fine wh**ky savoured beside a crackling fireplace. It's the gentle glow of lamplight, the hush of an evening without urgency, and the feeling of being exactly where you belong. The Library at La Casa Blanca.
