JUNIOR CREATIVE & OPERATIONS ASSISTANT
Are you creative, energetic, organised and great with people?
Au Jardin Guesthouse is looking for someone who can combine creativity, digital media, sales, hospitality and hands-on operational support — with the opportunity to grow within the business.
📸 CREATIVE • DIGITAL • MARKETING
You’ll be involved in:
• Photography, videography and content creation
• Graphic design — including menus, advertising and promotional material
• Creating content for weddings, conferences, functions and events
• Attending events to photograph and create content for our social platforms
• Managing and growing our presence across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and other relevant platforms
• Understanding and confidently using Meta / Meta Business Suite
• Setting up and managing social media accounts and digital content
• Updating the Au Jardin website
• Setting up and maintaining relevant online booking platforms and travel portals
• Managing online listings, digital presence, comments, reviews and guest engagement
🤝 SALES • CLIENTS • GUESTS
• Building and maintaining relationships with clients and tour operators
• Following up on enquiries and developing new business opportunities
• Promoting Au Jardin, weddings, conferences and events
• Taking care of guest and client requests and ensuring they are followed through
• Responding professionally to enquiries, comments, reviews and feedback
• Maintaining excellent guest relationships and escalating concerns to management when necessary
🏨 OPERATIONS & MANAGEMENT
• Assisting management with daily operations
• Shopping and purchasing
• Guest relations and customer service
• Assisting with functions, weddings and conferences
• Supporting different departments when required
• Providing after-hours operational and guest support

⏰ IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
🚗 VALID CODE B DRIVER’S LICENCE — NOT NEGOTIABLE
• Must live in Welkom, Riebeeckstad or nearby
• Must be willing to work rotational day and night shifts
• Must be available for functions, weddings, conferences and events, including evenings and weekends when required
• Must be comfortable with after-hours standby
• Good computer literacy and communication skills
Extensive work experience is NOT essential.
We are looking for ability, creativity, attitude, initiative and potential.
Hospitality experience will be an advantage, as will experience in photography, videography, graphic design, social media, sales, event marketing or cooking/kitchen work.
