As the seasons shift and autumn lays its golden touch on the Cape, a new season begins for Blaauw Cottage too. 🌾

At the end of April, I hand over the keys to new owners who will carry the heart of Blaauw forward.

I’m deeply grateful for the journey this little guesthouse has taken me on and for every guest who made it part of their own story.

To the new owners — wishing you nothing but joy, success, and magical mornings at the cottage. 💛

And to our wonderful guests — Phil, the familiar face who welcomed you at check-in, is staying on as part of the Blaauw experience, so expect the same warm welcome you’re used to.

If you are creative, daring and are considering adding a personal touch by making your own wedding bouquet, I'd highly recommend and to get your goods.

Inspired by my friend and former client .eats, I decided to do my own. I loved that our wedding was authentic to us, and I adored the pretty blooms at the farmers market!

Some tips...choose colours that speak to one another and flowers that make your heart smile. Depending on the size of your bouquet, have 1-3 big statement blooms. Add a few medium and small ones and remember the foliage or other plants as fillers. Try and create balance and rhythm until it is pleasing to your eye. Lastly, try not to overthink it. It's more fun that way😉
