Meet Bongani Nyathi, General Manager ✨

“With more than 10 years in hospitality and 3 years in property management, my journey has always been driven by a passion for people.

What I enjoy most about my work is creating environments where both Guests and team members feel valued, supported, and genuinely cared for. Hospitality is about so much more than operations. It is about building meaningful connections and delivering experiences that leave a lasting impression.

I strongly believe in servant leadership. For me, great leadership starts with listening, empowering others, and leading by example. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is mentoring team members, helping them grow in confidence, and watching them achieve their goals.

Every day brings new opportunities to support a Guest, guide a colleague, or solve a challenge. Whatever the situation, I strive to approach it with integrity, empathy, and a positive attitude.

Meet Lilly Leseli, our incredible General Manager at !

“I joined the Fluent team at the end of November 2024. When I first came in, I was appointed as Assistant General Manager for . A month later, I was moved to assist at which gave me the opportunity to step in and support where needed. Shortly after that, I was appointed as Acting General Manager, an incredibly rewarding experience that allowed me to grow, take on more responsibility, and prove myself.

Following that journey, I was then given the opportunity to step into the role of General Manager, which I currently hold, while also being entrusted to manage and support ongoing projects across the business.

My journey in hospitality began while I was studying towards my Hospitality Management qualification at Cape Peninsula University of Technology.

During that time, I had the opportunity to complete my in-service training at some of Cape Town’s well-known hotels, including The Westin Cape Town and The Table Bay Hotel, which gave me a strong foundation in the industry.

I officially started working in hospitality in 2018 as a receptionist at The Bay Hotel. From there, I continued to grow within the industry and later moved to The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa, where I worked my way up through roles such as Guest Liaison, Duty Manager, and Guest Experience Manager before joining Fluent.

What I love most about this industry is the PEOPLE, the ability to create genuine connections and put a smile on the faces of both our Guests and our Partners. I enjoy interacting with people from all over the world and being part of their experiences and memories.

For me, it’s about the small things, the thoughtful gestures, meaningful conversations, and moments where you can truly turn someone’s day around! It’s also an industry that allows you to be creative, which makes the work even more fulfilling and rewarding!”

“The door of opportunity opened for me in 2022 when I was offered the chance to launch a short-term letting hotel operation in Sea Point.

Having spent most of my career within established hotel groups, stepping into something new felt both exciting and challenging in an ever-evolving hospitality industry.

Fast-forward to 2026, and Fluent now boasts six incredible properties along Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard.

It’s been a privilege to see each one come to life from the ground up while supporting our Partners in reaching their investment goals.

Working alongside inspiring leaders and Partners has given me the confidence to keep pushing boundaries and redefining what it means to host Guests from all corners of the world, right here in our breathtaking city at the tip of Africa.”
