The sea-facing apartment has magnificent sea views with regular sightings of whales, fur seals, penguins, sunbirds, sugarbirds and a host of other birds right from your bedroom deck! An added delight is the regular night-time opportunity to view porcupines coming to our night-lit pond. All in all the perfect breakaway destination to spend time away from the madding crowds with memories to savour and enjoy!

November is an incredibly special time to be out birding in South Africa ... and especially so in a part of the country that experiences such climate extremes as the Kalahari Desert. We stayed on a game farm outside Kimberley and had some fabulous summer birding here with almost every bird carrying food for their young chicks. We're in Rhodes for a few days doing some birding (and fishing ) . In between the rain storms, we had a great day going up to Naude's Nek to a height of 2500 metres, saw most of the special birds of the area including these charismatic Drakensberg Rockjumper pair. We have finally completed a major revision and rewrite of our website!! It feels like this image - we've got to the top of the mountain after a huge amount of work!!
The presence of Covid-19 demanded we completely review our eco-tourism business and additionally we wanted to make it fully mobile responsive, and to include more of our images. So, with the help of Tanya at Spyderweb, who did the hard work of designing the layout and actually producing the website, we now have what we think is a beautiful website that resonates with who we are and what we offer....
