SomerZicht is located in a very quiet and established suburb of Somerset West with magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. On our doorstep you can enjoy world famous vineyards and award winning restaurants, relaxing beaches and the natural beauty of the Western Cape, or play a round of golf on one of the many renowned golf courses in the surrounding area. We offer two fully equipped Self Catering suites and three luxury en-suite B&B rooms. Spacious and stylishly decorated to create a relaxing ambience with the focus on quality furnishings, extra length beds and modern bathroom fittings. All have private outdoor areas which allows our guests to fully enjoy the wonderful weather and balmy evenings. The property has a large, leafy garden and sparkling swimming pool with pool loungers. Secure parking is provided on the property. Free WiFi and satellite television. The Self Catering Suites are ideal for long and shorter stays and are serviced twice per week. Kitchens are equipped with fridge/freezer, gas hob, microwave/convection oven and all kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery. Beds can be configured as either King-sized or Twin beds. Satellite television includes two German channels. Terrace Suite: located on the upper level with its entrance via steps from the pool area. It features a private sun terrace with pool loungers as well as a large balcony with stunning views on the mountains and the swimming pool below. The balcony is furnished with patio table and chairs and has a Weber barbeque. The suite offers a large open-plan area with bedroom and lounge, a separate kitchen and a separate bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. Pool Suite: located on the lower level near the pool with a private entrance. It has a sunny patio equipped with table and chairs as well as pool loungers. The suite has an open-plan lounge and kitchen area with a separate bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with shower, basin and toilet. Guests are welcome to use the barbeque facility at the pool. The three luxury B&B rooms are situated in the main house and features extra length beds, a small fridge, coffee and tea making facility, satellite television, digital safe, hairdryer and free WiFi. The en-suite bathrooms have shower, basin and toilet. Rooms are serviced daily. Pond Room & Tree Room: Situated at the front of the main house with private entrances and timber decks, furnished with patio table and chairs. Garden Room: Located at the back of the main house with a private garden terrace. Entrance to this room is through the main house. The room is furnished with a Queen-sized bed.

Somerset West is still open and as fabulous as ever! Even though 2020 has been an exceptionally difficult year for all in the hospitality industry, it is heartening to find new places that start up and that we can all support. Below are photo's taken at Botanicum - the new restaurant at Morgenster Wine Estate. A superb place for a meal with a view. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Best of all, it is located only 3 km from SomerZicht!

We were blessed with 75 mm of rain yesterday, today we have glorious sunshine but more rain is forecasted for tomorrow. The pool is full and the garden is happy.

Beautiful, sunny wintersday ... lovely walk on Strand beach - even braved crossing the icy Lourensriver. It is great to be located within a couple of minutes from the ocean.
Nothing beats a walk on the beach ... somethings are good whatever the season.. ice cream on the promenade, walking along the sand, children playing in the water. And then the sun setting behind Devil's Peak. Perfect end to a glorious winter day in the Cape

What a sunset and view from the patio... hope the clouds bring some rain
We started this glorious day in Somerset West with a brunch at Sweetwell, followed by coffee at Mooiberge Strawberry farm - where we also stocked up on some wine and fresh strawberries. As the sun sets on the Helderberg and the vine off-cuts are burning in the Weber, we end a fantastic day with a glass of Cape wine.
