Springfontein House Upmarket bed & breakfast establishment Upmarket B+B run by an irascible old Scot. Delightful host. Good w**e, food and conversation on tap.

The best half way stop in South Africa

One of the most important highways in South Africa, the N1 slices through almost the full width of the country, linking the major cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria with Cape Town, some 1500 kilometres apart. It also forms part of a popular route to Durban and the Eastern Cape centres of Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth. A break in a journey of such length is essential for comfortable (and safe) motoring. That ideal break is provided by Springfontein Guesthouse in the village of Springfontein in the Free State, ideally sited 145 kilometres south of Bloemfontein and 80 kilometres north of Colesburg.

Having run the Guest House for 19 years and being nearer to 80 years of age than 75, I have decided to retire.
I have sold Springfontein House to Chrissie and Pieter Boshoff who have lived in Springfontein on and off for the last 15 years.
I have had a wonderful time here and am so grateful for all the support I have received, both locally and from guests. I have been very fortunate in making many terrific friends and will cherish happy memories during my retirement.
I hope that similar friendship and support given to me will be extended to Chrissie and Pieter. They can be contacted on 072 215 2036.
I should like to end by saying a big "Thank You" to everyone and I wish you all an happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and every success in 2023.
