Our electricity is back on Stanford!!!!

Stanford - Greater Gansbaai (Municipal direct)
Power to the Stanford-Gansbaai area was restored in the early hours of this morning. Although frustration and impatience ran high, we are grateful to the Eskom team who continued working throughout the night.

If there are any households on the municipal direct supply in still without electricity, please report it to our Contact Centre on 028 313 8111 or via the Citizen App.

Cable theft
Blompark is also still experiencing a power outage. A case relating to infrastructure damage and cable theft has been opened at the Gansbaai Police Station.

Residents who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area, or who have seen anything on their security cameras, are urged to contact the Municipality’s Contact Centre on 028 313 8111, via email at [email protected], or through the Citizen App under “Electricity Faults”. The public may also contact the Anti-Fraud toll-free number on 0860 044 044, or report vandalism and theft telephonically to SAPS Gansbaai on 028 384 0200.

Stanford - Greater Gansbaai (Eskom direct)
The farms between Stanford and the Greater Gansbaai area remain without electricity, including Baardskeerdersbos. Eskom is aware of this and an update will follow.

Onrus-Vermont (Eskom direct)
Onrus, Onrus North and Vermont are currently experiencing another unscheduled power outage. As soon as the teams have rested, they will begin investigating.

Bosplasie and surrounding estates as well as the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley remains without power.

Pringle Bay, Betty’s Bay, Rooi-Els (Eskom direct)
Power supply to Pringle Bay, Hangklip and Sea Farm was restored at 21:30 last night.

Parts of the Betty’s Bay are still without power. Eskom will continue with cable repairs today. No estimated restoration time is available at this stage.

Day 4 without electricity yet our Stanford community is still finding humour in the situation. A story posted yesterday by showing our local Oumeul farmstall packed with customers titled "the great unwashed" was our all time favourite 😀 We are all desperate for hot showers!

Our muni workers continue doing a sterling job of clearing the streets and pavements of broken branches and fallen trees. Our coffee shops are all open producing menus specially for the occasion and keeping our spirits up.

Thank you .stanford and others .... you are super stars! Thank you to our local for offering the service of charging our inverters. So much appreciated 👏

Summer is when Stanford truly gets it's smile on. Yes we swim in our river. Yes we kayak, float on lilos, get dragged on tractor tubes behind boats and we fish ... yes yes!! Plenty of fishing goes on all along the river bank.
