“Giving cash to beggars feeds the problem and not the person”
The Give Responsibly initiative, backed by Stellenbosch Municipality, offers a practical way to support the homeless through coupons redeemable for a nutritious meal or a night at the Stellenbosch Night Shelter. Available at local participating shops or the Visit Stellenbosch Information Center, these paper-based coupons provide a meaningful alternative to cash donations. The initiative, managed by the Stellenbosch Night Shelter, addresses the challenge of assisting those in need in a dignified manner. Additionally, a free lunch is served Monday to Friday at the Bergzicht Taxi Rank, further supporting the community's vulnerable individuals. Read more.

1. Flower Parade - Free entrance: "Floralise” yourself for the Flower Parade through Stellenbosch CBD. Dress-up in a flower theme or buy yourself a flower item at our pop-up Flower Shop at the Braak, Stellenbosch (from 16:00).Then join the crowd for a carnival-style Flower Parade starting at the Braak at 18:00. The parade is a short 30 min walk through Stellenbosch town centre (including historic Church and Plein Street). Walk on the festive beat of drumlines, majorettes and minstrels.
