Lonely is when something's missing. Alone is when everything unnecessary finally goes quiet.

Out here there's no small talk to survive, no opinions to manage, no silence that needs filling. A fire, a warm cabin, and enough hush to let a thought finish its sentence.

The longer I live, the better I understand people who disappear into the woods for a while. The best company sometimes says nothing at all.

Two weeks in...a couple of trees felled and cut up ( discovered the best sharping tool for chainsaw chains.)

Holes dug ,concrete cast, posts set and so we begin the floor supports.

Project goal...68m² timber frame cottage.

So far just an assistant and me.
