We are so excited to introduce ourselves, Lydie and Wikus, as the new owners of 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate!

After years in the hustle and bustle of Stellenbosch, we decided it was time to swap the busy town life for the deep calm and breathtaking nature of the Langeberg Mountains. Swellendam holds a very special place in our hearts, and we are thrilled to be putting down roots in the same town as our family.

Coming from a background in the restaurant and service industry, hospitality is our true passion. We genuinely love connecting with people and are committed to providing you with an unforgettable, warm, and personalized stay. You can rest assured that the exceptional standards, tranquil experience, and high level of care you have come to expect at 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate will continue seamlessly.

💛 A 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate Farewell 💛

After six wonderful years, we're saying goodbye to 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate.

Since opening our doors in February 2020, this little gem in Swellendam has been so much more than a guesthouse to us — it's been a home, a labour of love, and a place where we've had the privilege of welcoming guests from all over the world. Watching 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate grow into Swellendam's #1 rated B&B on TripAdvisor has been one of the greatest joys of our lives.

To every guest who stayed with us, shared a meal, a story, or a sunset on the stoep — thank you. You made 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate what it was.

As of 30 September 2026, we're handing the reins over to new owners who we know will care for this special place with the same love we did. We're excited for them, and for you to continue making memories here.

As for us — we're stepping into a new chapter.

Thank you, Swellendam, for six unforgettable years.

There’s a little magic in the garden when the afternoon light begins to fade.

The trees catch the last rays of sunshine, the gardens glow, and 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate takes on a completely different mood as the day comes to an end. 🌿✨

Our recent guests have shared some wonderfully kind words about their time at 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate, and what stands out is how many different parts of the experience have made an impression — from the generous space and modern bathrooms to the peaceful grounds and the warm welcome.

And of course, we couldn't leave out Bruce, our four-legged member of the 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate family, who seems to have made quite an impression of his own. 🐾

There’s a definite spring feeling around 𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐦estate lately. The days are getting brighter, the garden is filling out beautifully, and little signs of new life are appearing everywhere you look.

Perhaps it’s a little early for spring, but the garden certainly seems to think otherwise.
