As we step into 2026, we want to pause and say thank you. 2025 was a year filled with meaningful stays, quiet escapes, creative workations, rest and recovery, celebrations of love, and moments of reconnection with nature, with others, and with self.

It remains a privilege to share this treetop haven with our guests and to witness the subtle shifts that happen here. Deeper breaths, slower mornings, clearer minds, and time that feels genuinely well spent.

Here’s to a 2026 rooted in presence, balance, and care. For ourselves, for one another, and for the natural world that holds us.

Particularly noteworthy is the great communication with the two hosts. We felt very welcome right away.
Around the accommodation it is very quiet and peaceful - ideal for relaxing. To get to the nearest restaurants, you will only drive 10 minutes.”

The house feels like the perfect escape from city life whilst also having the convenience of being close by to all that Swellendam has to offer. Some like it hot. We like it even hotter. 🔥

Our infrared sauna is the perfect way to unwind after exploring the nearby forests and trails or after an outride with Hermitage Horses. Infrared heat supports muscle recovery, improves circulation, and eases tension.

Because we’re fully off grid and powered by solar, sauna availability depends on the weather and our battery storage. When it’s on, it’s the ultimate slow ritual.

Cool down afterwards with a dip in the swimming dam, a refreshing outdoor shower, or a cold-plunge moment in the hot tub.

Life up here is simple in the best way. 🐓🐴🦆🐸

Solar-powered, greywater-nourished, biodegradable-only, and wrapped in gardens, paddocks, and the animals who help keep the land thriving. Horses mow the grass, ducks and chickens handle pest control, and the frogs do the soundtrack.

Things are heating up! ☀️

But we’ve got plenty of ways to help you stay cool.
Make a splash (or enjoy a slow float) in our swimming dam. Cool down with a mountain view in the outdoor shower, especially magical under the stars after a dip in the hot tub. And if you prefer cold plunges, you’re welcome to turn the hot tub into a cold tub instead.

We’ve also added upgrades to keep the treehouse breezy this summer, including a fully wrap around roof on both balconies for all-day shade and extra fans inside.

“We had the most incredible, relaxing time at Eco treehouse.🌲 The area is breathtakingly beautiful and we felt so at peace, after the most stressful week.
Johann was so accommodating and even pushed our getaway forward by a day, due to our work commitments, at no extra cost.
Then my boyfriend left his favourite cap behind, and Johann sent it to our local Paxi pickup point, completely out of his own kindness.
We absolutely cannot wait to return, which will be very soon indeed❤️”

🫐 It’s officially berry season in Swellendam! 🫐

Just down the road from the treehouse, our neighbours and are bursting with summer fun.

Spend the morning picking berries, racing through mazes, zip-lining, canoeing, and swimming in the river at The Berry Farm, or enjoy liqueur tastings, jams, and preserves at Wildebraam Berry Estate — both are an easy walk or bike ride away.

When you’re done, come back to the treehouse for a braai under the trees and a soak in the hot tub.
Fun in the sun, sorted. ☀️🌿
