🎂 First Friday Turns One!
One year ago, on 1 August 2025, First Friday began with a simple vision: to encourage people to explore Swellendam, support local businesses, and create an evening where our community could come together.
A year later, we’re incredibly grateful for what it has become.
Every First Friday has been made possible by the businesses that have opened their doors, the musicians who have shared their talents, the artists, makers, vendors, and every person who has chosen to spend an evening supporting local. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment have helped transform an idea into a community tradition.
To everyone who has attended, invited friends, shared our posts, discovered a new favourite café, enjoyed a meal, browsed local shops, or simply taken a stroll through town, thank you! You are the reason First Friday continues to grow.
This birthday isn’t just about celebrating First Friday, it’s about celebrating all of you. Every business, every visitor, every smile, every conversation, and every bit of support has helped shape what First Friday has become.
So join us on Friday, 7 August, as we celebrate our very first birthday! Expect a festive atmosphere and an evening filled with the warmth and community spirit that has defined First Friday from the very beginning.
Here’s to an incredible first year and to many more years of building community, uplifting our town, and celebrating everything that makes Swellendam special.
Thank you for being part of the journey. 🎈🎂🥂
