Ok... so this one made me do some research. This Zebra has been with these Giraffes for months . Apparently Giraffes and Zebra's hang out together for enhanced safety but I am honestly not sure this is the situation here as this is the only Zebra that seems to have adopted the Giraffes as his own or maybe it is the other way around. I reckon this is just a confused Zebra in my personal unprofessional opinion. Not sure how one tells the Zebra he is with the wrong crowd.

We recently welcomed a new little Giraffe to our Estate. Welcome little (not so little) one. They are just magnificent animals.

Fun fact about baby Giraffes:
Baby giraffes, called calves, are already about 6 feet tall at birth and can stand and walk within a few hours of birth, though their ossicones are initially flat against their heads. They are born while their mothers are standing up, so they experience a 5 to 6-foot drop to the ground at birth, which helps them take their first breath. In the wild, calves grow quickly and form nursery groups called "creches" for protection, but they are still vulnerable to predators like lions.

Become part of our Estate and make that move . Purchase a stand and start building your dream retirement, holiday home or just a place on this little piece of heaven to call your every day home.

Here are some interesting facts about elephants:

Intelligence and Communication:
Elephants are highly intelligent and can recognize themselves in mirrors, demonstrating self-awareness. They also communicate using a complex system of vocalizations, including infrasound, that can travel for miles.

Physical Adaptations:
Elephants have thick skin, which helps them stay cool and can retain water. Their trunks are incredibly versatile, allowing them to perform tasks like smelling, feeling, and even collecting water.

Diet and Foraging:
Elephants are primarily herbivores, spending a significant portion of their day foraging for food. They eat a variety of plants, including grass, leaves, and fruits, and can consume large amounts of food and water daily.

Social Behavior:
Elephants live in matriarchal family groups led by an older female, and they have strong bonds within their herds. They also exhibit a wide range of social behaviors, including playfighting, grooming, and caring for their young.

Reproduction:
Female elephants have the longest gestation period of any mammal, at 22 months. Baby elephants, called calves, are born with a short coat of hair and can walk within an hour of birth.

Conservation Concerns:
Elephants face threats from poaching for their ivory tusks and habitat loss. Conservation efforts are crucial to protecting these magnificent creatures.

Interesting fact : At birth, the calf will already be 6 feet tall. That's one tall baby. Baby giraffes don't stay tiny (relatively speaking) for long, the baby will nearly double their height in the first year! A giraffe calf will nurse for about 9-12 months, but at 4 months it will begin to nibble on leaves too.

I can sit for hours and stare at these magnificent animals. Blessed to have them walking freely on our Estate.
