Sensayuma set on the banks of the mighty Tugela River where the ocean meets the river. With a 180 eagles eye view of the mighty Tugela river and the Indian ocean. Sensayuma is truly a Zululand’s best-kept secret gem. Wake up with the sun and stroll out our gate onto the beach. Wander the untouched beaches and river mouth or grab a paddle ski to kick start your morning with a paddle up the gorgeous

river. Fishermen and women can cast off to their hearts content, as the fishing is great all year round. Most likely though your going to want to do the big chill. Head for the beach bar to order a cocktail or two. You can wiggle your toes in beach sand while you wait. Then find a spot at one of the pools to chillax. With two pools to choose from you wont have to arm wrestle for space. As night falls Sensayuma comes to life. The friendly crew loves a good jol and need no persuading to pump up the music and rock the night away until you’re ready to crash into your room, dorm, tent or teepee. Sleep easy knowing that come morning, there is a whirlpool bath on the highest deck where you can get your bubbles back. Order a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner from our own café on the top deck or have a browse through our on site beach shop selling amazing handcrafted gifts as well as some basic food items. Need some adventure in your life? We have you covered with a number of in house tours and activities as well as a in house tour bookings desk organizing everything for you you will never go bored at Sensayuma. After all that take your shoes off, relax, recharge and soak up the breathtaking views and thank the river gods for places like Sensayuma. Dear friends and family
It saddens us to say that Sensayuma Backpackers is closed.
We'd like to thank each and every one of you that came to visit and support us over the past 13 years. Some amazing friendships were made and memories built that will last a lifetime.
The end of Era, but who knows what the future might bring.
It's been and incredible journey and would not have been possible if it wasn't for all of you who came to stay with us 🙏

Dear Sensayuma Family - we are trying something new these holidays! Instead of running as a Backpackers, we will offer the house to rent as a self-catering unit. It is perfect for families and can accommodate 10 - 20 people in 5 rooms: 3 x double en-suites, 1 x family room that sleeps 4 with private bathroom and a 10 sleeper dorm room.
We have two swimming pools, decks with breathtaking views of the Tugela river mouth and Indian Ocean, a fully equipped kitchen with beach views, a bar with a fridge on our main deck, a wood-fired pizza oven, as well as direct beach access from the garden.
It's easy to imagine how memorable a holiday with your family or friends would be in this spectacular Beach House.
