🌺 FROM THE LOWVELD TO THE WORLD STAGE, THIS SOUTH AFRICAN KEEPS BEATING THE GLOBE AT ITS OWN GAME 🇿🇦🏆

Leon Kluge grew up surrounded by leaves and petals. His grandfather curated the Betty's Bay and Lowveld Botanical Gardens. His mother still runs a nursery in Nelspruit.

Somewhere in those roots, a quiet obsession turned into one of South Africa's most remarkable creative exports.

Today, Kluge is known as South Africa's Flower King.

He is the first African designer ever to win Gold at the Singapore Garden Festival. He claimed Best of Show there twice, in 2018 and again in 2024, with his breathtaking mangrove inspired garden, Between Two Worlds.

He is also the only African designer to win the Gardening World Cup in Nagasaki, Japan. Add to that top honours at the Philadelphia Flower Show, New Zealand's Ellerslie International Flower Show, and multiple Gold medals at London's RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

Most recently, he and his team claimed Grand Gold and Best on Show at the Shenzhen International Flower Show in China.

Now he is preparing something deeply personal for Chelsea 2026. A garden called Life After Fire, inspired by the Cape wildfires and the incredible way fynbos regenerates from ash.
