🌊World Oceans Day 2026 – Umhlanga Sands Beach Clean-Up 🌊

This World Oceans Day, the Umhlanga Sands team proudly rolled up their sleeves and headed to the shoreline to help protect one of our most precious natural resources – our oceans.

Together, our dedicated volunteers spent the morning cleaning the beach, removing litter and helping to create a cleaner, healthier environment for marine life and future generations. Every piece of waste collected is a step towards preserving the beauty of our coastline and reducing the impact of pollution on our oceans.

A heartfelt thank you to every team member who participated and demonstrated that small actions can make a big difference when we work together.

In celebration of World Conservation Day, our guests and staff enjoyed a fascinating guided tour through the beautiful Beachwood Mangroves.

The tour provided a unique opportunity to explore this remarkable ecosystem, learn about the vital role mangroves play in protecting our coastline, supporting biodiversity, and improving water quality, as well as gain insight into the many species that call this habitat home.

From observing the intricate root systems and mud-dwelling creatures to discussing conservation challenges and environmental stewardship, the experience highlighted why protecting these natural treasures is so important for future generations.

A heartfelt thank you to our guide for sharing valuable knowledge and helping us deepen our appreciation for one of nature’s most important ecosystems.
