🦈Our local whitetip reef sharks coming out of their little home cave in Aliwal Shoal 🇿🇦. Whitetips are nocturnal, foraging at night through the reef for octopuses, lobsters, eels and reef fish to eat. Spending its days resting in reef caves. It's not territorial — many sharks crowd into a cave, usually stacking themselves atop each other like logs. The whitetip usually returns to the same cave or crevice every day, sometimes for years. It has a small home range of up to 3 kilometer where it may stay for months or years.
