Yellowwoods Country Homestead

Yellowwoods Country homestead was built in 1880 by the Methley Family, famous for the Methley Plums which are still grown on the farm today. Bought by the Pennington family who wrote 'Penningtons Butterflies of Southern Africa" and are known for there association with Michealhouse as recognised Headmasters (both father and son) for several years, after which the homestead was then bought by the Turner Family in 2003.

Considerable landscaping was done by Sue Tarr in keeping with the Old English heritage theme, using photos of the original gardens and the home was fully restored over the following years - achieving the Lions River heritage Society award in recognition to services to Cultural History in Kzn in 2015.

The guest cottage is set close to the main home, with a private entrance and shady parking
