For families: there's ample paved space for little ones to ride tricycles, plus grassed areas to run and play, a pool and a trampoline.

We're just 70 metres from the beach — perfect for a quiet, leisurely day with your loved ones. The lifeguard swimming beach is a 9-minute walk further up, and a favourite fishing spot lies about 60 metres in the other direction, easy to spot by the prominent rocky outcrop reaching into the waves.

3rd Avenue Pub & Grill is an easy walk straight up the road, with a lovely outdoor play area and jungle gym for the kids — so you can relax with something from the menu while keeping a watchful eye on them.

A local Quick Spar is only 2.4 km away, near two more restaurants worth trying — Schooners and Jaxx. Oribi Plaza Shopping Centre (4.9 km) has Pick n Pay, Clicks and more, with Hilltop Spar next door for a proper shop. For city-style shopping, the new South Coast Mall is just off the N2 Shelly Beach offramp (13.9 km, about 15 minutes), and the familiar Shelly Centre with Ster-Kinekor is nearby too.

Golfers and squash players will love Port Shepstone Country Club, which also has a lovely restaurant and pub, popular with locals and visitors alike. San Lameer Country Club (37 km) is one for the golfing bucket list.

One more thing that sets us apart: almost everywhere on the South Coast you have to cross the notorious railway line to reach the beach — not here. You walk straight out our front gate onto Marine Drive and onto the sand. It's a quiet part of Tweni where older kids can safely cycle and play in the street.
