Captions from today’s hike on a warm, sunny winter’s day from Sani Lodge & Cottages to the summit of Ndlovini mountain: an altitude gain of 700 metres from 1500 to 2200. Cool, fresh water from the Pholelana stream along the way quenched our thirst. The view from the top included the escarpment with Lesotho, the Giant’s Cup Trail, Gxalingenwa river valley, Pinnacle Rock and the rugged mountain ranges sweeping towards the north.

Simone is the resident ceramicist. You can find her creations at Giant’s Cup Cafe and Crafts gallery, where she also hosts a Paint on Clay space, with each bisque item handmade on her pottery wheel.
