Sometimes you don’t realise how tired you are until you arrive somewhere that asks nothing of you.

You put the bags down.
The kettle goes on.
Someone finds a sunny spot outside.
And suddenly, there’s nowhere you need to be.

The afternoon stretches out in front of you. Conversations last a little longer. The mountains sit quietly in the distance. And for once, nobody is watching the clock.

Later, you head inside, settle into the comfort of the lodge and wonder why you don’t do this more often.

Maybe a getaway doesn’t need a packed itinerary.

Maybe you just need a beautiful place, your favourite people and a little time to do less. 🌿

Welcome to Ambleside Lodge.

⛰️ THIS is what an Underberg weekend is all about!

Some of our lovely guests swapped a slow morning for hiking boots and took on the mighty Rhino Peak this weekend… and just look at those views! 😍🥾
