Bayside Guest House was finally able to have our Tourism Star Grading for the year, despite all of the Covid-19 negativities! This truly was a bit of light among the darkness.

All of the staff worked hard to ensure that everything was functioning at 110%. The manager, Carel, checked that all the windows and doors were flawless. The owner, Mr Matthias, bought some flowers to brighten up the rooms and made sure everything and everyone was following the Covid-19 protocols. The Tourism Grader could find nothing at fault and commended us all on a job well done.

Bayside Guest House received an exceptional 4 star accomodation rating! We are all so proud and thankful to everyone who walked the extra mile to make this achievement possible.

The "naughty City" as people call us after president Ramaphosa's speach. :). but we have the most beautiful beaches, wildlife ( have you been to Addo Elephant park recently, the baby elephants are so cute.. ) Mountain biking ,, hiking in nature, watching sunset on the unique sand dunes while the dolphins give you a show.. maybe the Elf can give you more information when you call or email.

We want to send a big thank you to everyone who participated in our contest and helped make it a success! A special congratulations to A*z Abdulla, the winner for the best travel experience story during the 2020 pandemic.

This is her story:
"This year whilst the world went into a Pandemic I was stuck in quarantine on the ocean for 70+ days with no sight of land!!!
I work on a cruise liner and many countries refuse to let us even dock.
We were obviously scared and wanted to be home with our loved ones.
Being isolated alone in a single tiny cabin for close to 3 months we sailed from Alabama USA to the Bahamas then to Barbados and thereafter to Brazil we then crossed the equator and Atlantic and made it to Namibia we finally got the clearance and there after sailed to South Africa.
Unfortunately some crew found these conditions incredibly difficult and took their own lives. The rest of us stuck together. .
I got back an unexpectedly began seeing a young gentleman who is from PE.
I have already flown to him once and will fly to him again in November.
Winning this will mean the WORLD to me as my travel story was absolutely insane.
I am absolutely head over heels for my boyfriend and this would be such a treat."
What a tragic yet beautiful story.

We also have 2nd and 3rd prizes ( surpises) as it was so difficult.
