Race Organisers get asked the age old question each year!
WERE YOU ABLE TO ORGANISE A GOOD WATER RELEASE FOR US THIS YEAR!

This year there are no excuses! This year there will be high water levels, it just depends on how high!

So I must say, if you are brave enough, this year is the year you have to do the Orange Descent.

The 2026 Orange Descent Canoe Marathon will be a K1 event and is a CSA B-Grade Race.

K1 & K3 crews are welcome and with a constant, guaranteed good water level and enjoyable paddling experience is possible at even the lowest of levels.

This 2 Day stage race covering 44km of great river paddling, promising to be everything you’ve dreamt of and much more for paddlers and seconds alike!

20 Days to go!

The Orange Decent tick all the boxes when it comes to a stage river race on and off the water.

If you have not done and Orange Descent before this year might be a good one with the current water levels in the Orange River system.

The river is currently running at 932 cumecs and we expect it to level down to 200/300 cumecs for the race! This is an amazing level that adds to the exitement on each day.
