Spotting a hippo on the waterbed is a rare sight! Hippopotamus spend most of their time beneath the water with only their eyes and nose peeking out. Many hippopotamus only surface at night to graze or travel to another bed of water. So, seeing a hippo surface during the day is a very rare sight!
