Fall is upon us in South Africa as the season stretches from March – May. In the early fall, it is usually warm and the bush is still green from the summer rain. Around May/June the leaves and grass will start to wilt. During the month of May, you can typically sit outside in the evenings with just a sweater. The temperatures are 22-28º Celsius (71-82º Fahrenheit) during the day and 5-15º Celsius (41-59º Fahrenheit) at night. At Witfontein Elephant Lodge we can always keep warm around the fireplace in our Boma.
