What a perfect weekend! Perfect guest (like always! We are so fortunate), perfect weather and a moon that is so difficult to capture on a mere cell camera. To all our guests; those that have been here once, and all those that have visited over and over: We cannot thank you enough for your support. The past year has been very, very tough. Giving up was never an option, because where would you go if we are not around anymore!? (Wink, wink)

We are extremely humbled and thankful for the last few weeks. Since the "ban" was lifted, we were fully booked and yet again, we have met the most wonderful people.
Aan al die gaste wat die laaste drie weke by ons oorgebly het, 'n groot, groot dankie vir julle vriendelikheid en gemoedelikheid. Baie dankie dat julle ons gekies het. Sommige het 'n spesiale geleentheid kom vier, ander het kom werk en die res het sommer net lekker kom ontspan en die pragtige blomme in die omgewing kom waardeer.
We appreciate the support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts in helping us grow. We cannot wait to see you all again.

And we are (legally) open! Start booking, the first bookings already came in and we are filling up fast. Do not wait for weekends. We have uncapped WiFi and if you can work from home, why not make this your home for a few days?

We have done a proper clean from top to bottom and side to side. Even under the beds! We found no virus anywhere and are eagerly awaiting your return or first visit. The fireplace is stocked with logs. Sitting in front of it staring into the flames whilst having a bowl of soup and freshly baked bread, is all you need to get rid virus webs.
The first two weekends of July are already fully booked, but with free internet connection you can easily move your office here for a few days. Why not?!
We are now also offering lunch and dinner at a small fee. Do not forget that we are fully licenced. Beer on tap or gluhwein, the choice is yours!

During the second term 2018 we started a journey by building a new dwelling in Velddrif. By adding a room for each family member (we have many!) the so called “aftree plekkie (retirement house)” grew into a much larger place than originally planned.

We love having people over and decided to share our home with more than just the family. Being previously from a corporate environment and also a farming community, we have a unique mix of skills to make everybody feel welcome. So, whether you are a group that needs to get away from the office to have brain storm sessions or an individual that needs to take a moment for peace and quiet to rewind, we are geared for just that.

It is a quick and easy drive from Cape Town via the R27 and the moment you cross the bridge over the Berg river flowing into the sea, you can feel the tension falling away. By entering the security gate of the island, you know you have arrived at the place where you can just be. No traffic rushing by, just here and there somebody walking a dog or neighbours chatting to each other on the sidewalk

Join us and allow us to spoil you with a generous breakfast before you have to start your meeting or maybe travel further on your journey along the beautiful, serene West Coast of South Africa. Or, take a day or two with a good book and relax next to the water or make use of some of the activities on offer by the locals.
