For Immediate Release
The ANCYL Sedibeng condemns in strongest terms the deliberate attempts to undermine democratic and organizational processes.
ANC Provincial Conference
Parallelism
We refuse to auction the autonomy of the ANCYL to the ANC factional groupings.
The ANCYL RCPC in the Sedibeng region wishes to distance itself from the photoshoot tendencies of a disgruntled group purporting to be the Regional Executive Committee and loitering announcement which is alleged to be an official proclamation of the ANCYL Sedibeng region.
7th Sedibeng Regional Congress
The ANCYL RCPC collective agreed on the date of the Regional Congress which was scheduled to start on the 22nd to 23rd of June 2022.
We are of the view that the leadership of the ANCYL RCPC in Sedibeng should protect its dignity, and apply knowledge and respect for the organization.
On the first day of registration, the gate of the Congress venue was blocked by a rented mob purporting to be members of the ANCYL.
The congress was disrupted for almost 24 Hours until the NYTT Coordinator Cde Joy Maimela, Provincial Coordinator Cde Stanley Letsoalo, and Convenor of Deployees Ursula Mens sanctioned an emergency meeting with the RCPC collective and we unanimously agreed to postpone the congress to a different date based on the endless disruption and safety of the delegates, we took such a decision to avoid confrontation with a rented mob of armed hooligans, in the presence of biased Police Officers who decimally failed to protect delegates and allowed thugs to force their entry into the Congress venue unauthorized without accreditation, we have a written a formal complaint about this matter to the relevant authorities those Officers who were on duty at the time must be held accountable, a moment of tolerance in a moment of anger can save a thousand moments of regrets we are law-abiding citizens and responsible Leaders.
FACTIONALISM
We want to state categorically that we are aware that this was a well-orchestrated plan backed by some Leaders of the ANC to destabilize the ANCYL Sedibeng, this resolution was taken at Riviera Hotel and we are in a position of a recording which we received from those who were part of the proceedings.
ANCYL Sedibeng adopted a Roadmap TO REGIONAL CONGRESS.
The ANCYL in Sedibeng prepared itself for Regional Congress, we have undertaken all organizational processes in terms of the required protocol coupled with the fact that the branches would have been allowed to successfully convene their BAGMs and elect delegates to Regional, Provincial, and National Congress.
We clearly understand that in our preparations for a renewal agenda, Deployees to the Province, Sedibeng Region, and the PCPC entirely should be made aware and endorse that we qualify to convene a Congress.
In this case, all Deployees have been informed of the state of readiness to proceed with Congress in line with NYTT guidelines and ANCYL Constitution (We convened RCPC meetings to deal with adoption reports and determination of a congress date ).
We remain concerned about the misconduct of the some NYTT, PCPC, and RCPC members who seek to flaunt the organizational processes and create an unnecessary crisis with the view of collapsing all structures of the ANCYL which may result in the disbandment of the NYTT, PCPC's and RCPC's hence we firmly believe that disciplinary measures must be enforced to such individuals who are anti rebuilding and a renewal process of the ANCYL we condemn such behavior with the resentment it deserves.
ANC Provincial Congress
ANCYL Sedibeng congratulates the Elected Officials, of the ANC Gauteng Province, a collective that has a responsibility to unite and renew the ANC in this Province to defend our democratic gains and advance the NDR goals.
CONCLUSION
We must take the process of rebuilding the ANCYL seriously and with absolute devotedness likewise to clarify our membership and society in general about the statement issued by the ANC Sedibeng REC endorsing fraudulent activities within the ranks of its youth wing which is so unfortunate and regrettable.
The RCPC meeting will determine a date to convene a properly harmonized 7th Sedibeng Regional Congress and the direction will be given to the entire membership of Sedibeng in due course.
