Bountiful and beautiful! 🍋🍊The smell or citrus blossoms is one of our favourites and here we have nasty hues and oranges. They have no sooner finished there last season with the last fruits still eipeningtjat the trees are throwing out new blossoms! How awesome is this having these dance of oranges, lemons and naartjies. 🍋🍊

Continuous kombucha happens here all the time. It is the only drink we have for our guests used in their early morning boosters or a quencher on hot summer days! We have converted a few guests to become their own home brewers with great success! Happy to always gift a SCOBY and starter or we sell a starter kit for R250 with jar, tea, starter, SCOBY and cover -courier not included but R50-R110 will cover with PUDO or PostNet.

Spring is here, just waiting for rain after a dry summer but avoided winter feeding for game as we had lovely rains last season that has carried the game through so the feeding was just for spoiling here at the lodge and no bulk feeding out in the farm. Very grateful l

Nyala bulls are like this one are assertive and intolerant. They do not allow other animals near when females or food come around.

He’s decided to be a regular visitor! Warthogs’ head has healed, after we treated his screw worm infestations. He’s blind in the one eye now, and that still needs to heal. Another boar hit him I his hind quarter while chasing him and that wound has also healed up nicely. He broke his bottom tusk when an nyala bull horned him away from his pile of food, but he’s in fine health and well fed for an old man like him!

Winter crops were not bad at all. Substituted lettuce with monstrous spinach and Chinese cabbage! Loads of tomatoes and onion and garlic scapes used for soups and stir fries. Very busy currently preparing beds as seedlings for Spring as the weather is warming up plus also our first ricotta which has sparked our interest into cheese making which will be our next challenge making our own boerewors and certain cheeses is certainly on the cards.

The kitchen/workroom is getting crowded with Kombucha, candles and soaps with an entire shelf taken up by recipe books. We have decided to sell the immaculate books.
