Dear KD Family,
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our loyal customers. We are truly grateful for your continued support.
However, it is with a very heavy heart that we address an issue that has become increasingly concerning. Over the past few weeks, we have experienced unacceptable behaviour from some patrons, including rudeness, disregard for our rules, and conflicts—especially while queueing to enter.
This behaviour has now resulted in serious complaints from our neighbours, and we have been threatened with potential closure due to the disturbance caused outside our premises.
For this reason, we must be firm going forward. We will no longer tolerate any rude, disruptive, or non-compliant behaviour. Anyone acting out of line will be asked to leave immediately and/or will not be allowed through the gates.
KD has grown tremendously in popularity, and we understand that everyone wants to enjoy the KD experience. To ensure we can continue operating safely and peacefully, we kindly ask that you please respect the following guidelines:
1. Noise:
When arriving and standing in the queue, please refrain from loud music or noise. Many patrons arrive as early as 5am and we are surrounded by residents who deserve peace and quiet.
2. Queue Behaviour:
We understand the Wellington heat can be intense, but we request that you please remain in your vehicles as far as possible. We are working on moving the queue earlier to help ease the wait.
3. Alcohol:
Do not consume alcohol while waiting in the queue. This is illegal and any person found doing so will be asked to leave immediately.
4. Public Urination:
Please do not relieve yorself on neighbouring farms or alongside the road. This is both unlawful and greatly upsetting to our neighbours. We are arranging a mobile toilet to assist where possible.
5. Respect for Staff and Others:
Any patron who is rude or disrespectful to staff, security, or fellow customers will be asked to leave without exception.
6. Capacity Limit:
We can only accommodate 1,000 people per day. Once we reach capacity, no additional entries will be allowed.
7. Group Arrivals:
If you are visiting as a group, please ensure everyone arrives together. Once we reach capacity, we cannot allow individuals to enter separately.
8. Parking:
When queueing, please park on the far left-hand side of the road so that other road users are not obstructed.
9. Payment Ready:
To help the line move more efficiently, please have your payment ready when you reach the gate. Delays occur when groups are still deciding who is paying or when not everyone is prepared.
10. Drop-offs:
Please note that drop-offs will not be allowed outside the gate, as this also contributes to noise and disruption on the road. All patrons must be inside their vehicle to enter the premises. Please note there is a refundable fee involved for drop-offs.
