Animal-lovers will be excited to hear that self-drive visits to game reserves and access-controlled national parks are permitted on Level 3. Other newly permitted activites include recreational fishing and subsistence hunting for food.

Activities such as hunting, self-drive visits to private or public game reserves and national parks, as well as recreational fishing are permitted in Level 3 lockdown.

Business offering accommodation such as B&Bs and hotels are allowed to accept customers who are travelling for business purposes only. Offering accommodation for leisure purpose will not be permitted under Level 3.

Private and public game farms will also be allowed to reopen for game drives, however, group tours will remain banned.

Minister of tourism Kubayi-Ngubane addressed the nation today [30 May] on the new regulations regarding the travel and tourism industry in South Africa.
