Golden hour just got a little louder. 🐦 A flock of Southern Masked Weavers has moved into our garden, lining up along the pool wall as the mist still sits over the valley behind them — and they're not just here for the view. This is the start of the breeding season for these birds, and the males are already gearing up: each one will weave several intricate, ball-shaped nests from grass and reeds, hanging them from branches over water or in thorny trees to keep predators out. A female inspects each nest before choosing a mate — and if she's not impressed, she'll simply tear it apart and move on, sending him back to start again.
It's one of nature's best (and busiest) building competitions, and it's happening right outside our door. Come stay where the view — and the drama — does the talking. 🌿
