Our Story

We are excited to introduce ourselves as the new owners of this beautiful boutique lodge in Wilderness on the Garden Route, South Africa. The lodge, originally called Porcupine Pie, has been in operation since 2007. When we took over the lodge from the previous owners, we decided to rename it Nima. Nima is the Tibetan word for sun, and we found this a fitting description of the lodge, situated high on a hill, with panoramic views over the surrounding valleys and mountains.

We’re a married couple, one South African and one French-Canadian, who fell in love with the Wilderness area. After spending time working around Nature’s Valley, we decided that this strip of coast was the place we wanted to live. And, that we wanted to find a way to share the stillness and peace we found in the nature of the area. We are excited to share our vision for the space with you, and to continue to build on what Porcupine Pie started.
