Love lives here 🎣💙

Our beautiful humble holiday abode was built with so much love by our grandparents Alfred and Valerie Barry.

Pictured on the left: Our great grandmother Dorothy Herholdt and her 110 lbs Cob in March 1964.

Pictured on the right: Our grandmother Valerie Barry and her 111 lbs Cob in October 1972. Val beat her mother’s record by 1 lbs and still holds the record today.

Witsand is considered to be one of the most pristine and bountiful river estuaries in all of South Africa, providing a variety of fishing opportunities and conditions that will challenge your fishing skills 🐟

The last 30 minute stretch of the 3 hour road trip from Cape Town 🚙 Witsand is unpretentious and just far enough off-the-beaten-track to retain its pristine natural beauty. It is the perfect coastal hideaway from the world, and is known as the hidden gem of the Garden Route.

Our Barry Memorial Church is arguably the most photographed building in the Hessequa region.

It is a national monument and was built by our family in 1859. It can be found a stone throw away from our beautiful San Remo holiday accommodation and is still in use today for services and weddings ⛪️
