The space
The apartment includes two bedrooms, with spacious inter-leading balconies and two bathrooms downstairs. A steep staircase leads to the loft with a skylight and open-plan kitchen, lounge and deck overlooking the majestic Breede with views of both the river and the Indian Ocean. It is fully furnished, with DSTV, bedding and bath towels included. Please bring own Beach towels. The unit not suitable for guests who cannot climb stairs.
Blue Bayou on the Breede offers access to an unspoilt paradise. Situated halfway between Cape Town and Knysna, it is the perfect gateway to the Garden Route.
Located in one of South Africa’s most prized sanctuaries for birds and marine life, it overlooks the nursery for Southern Right Whales who visit the shoreline to mate and calve between June and November. Within strolling distance or a short drive away beckon vast, pristine beaches with majestic dunes framing the warm, inviting Indian ocean. For hikers there are the De Hoop Nature Reserve, the Warmwaterberg Hot Springs and the Whale Trail as well as Bontebok National Park. Water lovers can enjoy canoeing, kite-surfing, sailing, swimming and snorkelling. One of South Africa’s top fishing destinations, the Breede River is an angler’s dream. Included in the eat-as-much-as-you-can-fish buffet of Cob & Kabbeljou are mussels and oysters - fresh off the rocks. Augmenting the sense of timeless serenity is the pontoon at Malgas - the last hand-operated pontoon in Southern Africa - that provides access to the picturesque Bush & Boat pubs along the Breede.

Located within less than a minutes walk is a great restaurant, amazing steaks, pizzas and freshly caught sea food, a bar with loads of specials and several TVs to watch sport, both leading onto a view deck overlooking the river. A beautiful blue swimming pool also with views of the river and sea.
