Howberry Hills Guest Lodge

Howberry Hills Guest Lodge is situated on a 35 hectare equestrian estate along the world famous Garden Route in Wittedrift, Plettenberg Bay, South Africa.

The estate is set on the hills surrounding the Bitou river with magnificent views over the valley towards the mountains and beyond. Only minutes away from fantastic sandy beaches, endless activities abound in the area, from water sports to whale watching, the world’s highest bungy, safari experiences, horse trail riding, hiking and much, much more.

Howberry Hills Guest Lodge offers luxury self catering farm accommodation including access to our Austrian “private master chef” for incredible meals and functions up to 30 guests, free wi-fi and use of our swimming pool. Lodge Guests are welcome in the main Lodge area for meals, the honesty bar, coffee and snacks, as well as the piano and TV lounge.

Our quaint and peaceful organic tea garden is open to our lodge guests and equestrian clients, where we offer gourmet baked goods, as well as a selection of teas and coffees. Visitors have use of our wi-fi as well as access to a children’s play ground, a petting farm & seasonal fruit picking. Breakfasts, cooked gourmet lunches and dinners are prepared by our private master chef Doris and are exclusively by reservation only.

We grow our own fruit, vegetables and herbs to use in the kitchen, as well as freshly laid farm eggs. We make all our own jams and preserves from our organic farm produce. No pesticides or fertilizers have been used on the farm for more than a decade, a fact that we are very proud of. This not only keeps our guests healthy, but also helps to keeps our natural environment in tact, as does our solar energy system.

There are beautiful walking trails and picnic spots on the farm through indigenous bush, along the Bitou river, the riding trails, as well as our very own olive grove.

As we live on our farm, we are always available for any assistance, advice, tour, activities and sightseeing information or guidance. We love to interact with our guests if they so wish.

We offer many extras, such as horse riding, laundry service, picnic baskets and so on…. You will love it…

Being an equestrian estate and Warmblood Stud farm, we also offer temporary out of town show stabling, which is close to some of the Garden Route’s major show venues.
