YOUNG HANDS BIG DREAMS
There is something special about young people who choose not only to dream about the future, but to start building it today.
In January this year (their gap year) our son Simon Grobler and friend Devan Vd Berg decided to avoid the familiar path of "maybe later." Instead, they rolled up their sleeves and started B&B Buds a cleaning service for guesthouses, B&Bs, and other accommodation establishments throughout the Witzenberg area.
From the outside, it may look like just cleaning. But behind every sparkling bathroom, freshly made bed, spotless room and braai area and gleaming hot tub are lessons that no university can fully teach.
They are learning what it means to show up on time when others depend on you. They are discovering that customer service is not a buzzword but a promise. They are learning how to manage budgets, solve problems, communicate professionally, and sometimes push through when the days are long and the work is demanding.
Like many young entrepreneurs, they are discovering that success is not built on big ideas alone, but on hundreds of small things done right every single day.
As parents, it is a privilege to watch these two young men grow in confidence, responsibility and character. Every task they take on, every client they serve and every challenge they overcome becomes part of the foundation on which they will build their future careers.
For the accommodation industry in our valley, they offer something that cannot be bought: youthful energy, enthusiasm and a genuine desire to do good work.
