Yesterday we hosted my daughter and her friends for their netball year-end party here at Beloofde Land… and honestly, watching them reminded me why we dreamed of this place in the first place.
We went to the dam for swimming, swinging and playing on the raft … but the water fun didn’t last long, because something far more exciting stole their attention.
Tiny frog-toads — legs already grown but with the cutest little tails still attached — were everywhere along the edge of the water. And that was it. The girls forgot about swimming, forgot about the raft, and started discovering.
Within minutes they had drinking glasses turned into “frog homes”, each with a name, a story and a whole lot of giggles. They built habitats, compared their little frog-friends, and proudly showed off every new one they found.
And standing there watching them laughing and shrieking… it hit me again:
Give kids the right environment, and they will create their own magic.
No screens. No fancy equipment. Just nature, imagination, and the freedom to explore.
This is exactly what we hoped Beloofde Land would be — a place where children can still be children. A place of wonder, fresh air, muddy feet, and tiny creatures that become the highlight of the day.
Can’t wait to share more moments like this. 🌿💚
