LIVINGSTONE SET TO ROLL OUT MAJOR INNER-CITY ROAD UPGRADES AS STREETLIGHT INSTALLATION IS ALREADY UNDERWAY
Through the LTCDP and the Green, Resilient and Transformational Tourism Development Project (GREAT-TDP), we are rolling out a range of initiatives:
Rehabilitation of 8.31 km of inner-city roads.
Installation of 976 modern streetlights to brighten the city and power a 24-hour economy.
Upgraded junctions, sustainable mobility with cycle lanes, and a city landscaping competition to refresh our public spaces.
The inner-city road upgrades include:
1️⃣ Senanga Cluster – T1 Junction to Chilanga, Mokambo & Senanga Roads
2️⃣ Mwela Road – T1 to roundabout (North Western direction)
3️⃣ Kash*tu Street – Nehru Way to Chimwemwe Road
4️⃣ Francis Town Road – Airport Road to Mushili Way
5️⃣ Falls View A Road – Kanyanta Road to Kabompo Road
6️⃣ Falls View B Road – Kanyanta Road to Kabompo Road
7️⃣ Chimwemwe Road – Obote Ave. junction to Mwela Road junction
8️⃣ Macha Road – Bread of Life roundabout to Nakatindi Road
9️⃣ Likute Cluster – Mutelo Street junction - Likute Way to Obote Ave.
🔟 Akapelwa–Kaunda Road Junction – Akapelwa Road, Tanzania Rd to Kaunda Rd
This vision is only possible through collaboration: Government providing leadership, the private sector driving innovation and jobs, and citizens bringing ownership and pride.
Together, we are building a Livingstone that is not only Zambia’s pride, but Africa’s shining model of a 24-hour economy.
