Amaranth, also referred to as bondwe, popular for it tasty leaves as relish. Plants like these are useful for their medicinal and health properties. They naturally tend to grow at the end of the rainy season.

For us they are especially useful in vegetable garden because of the shade they give to younger plants which we plant near the base of each plant to protect them from the harsh sun.
