“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”

The saying, speaks to the remarkable power of purpose, determination, and unwavering faith. It suggests that when a person is genuinely committed to a dream, they begin to notice opportunities, meet the right people, and make decisions that gradually move them closer to that goal. However, as a person of faith, I believe that what many people refer to as “the universe” is ultimately God’s hand at work. It is God who opens doors that no one can shut, directs our steps, and places the right opportunities before us at the right time.

Having a clear vision is important, but vision alone is not enough. It must be accompanied by consistent effort, patience, and trust in God’s timing. There are moments in life when nothing seems to be working despite our best efforts. Yet, without warning, circumstances begin to change.

A scholarship opportunity appears just when finances seem impossible.

A job offer comes after months of rejection.

A chance meeting with someone provides guidance, encouragement, or a connection that changes everything.

These moments often seem like coincidences, but in reality, they remind us that God is always working behind the scenes, arranging events in ways we cannot see.

Success is born from a combination of belief, action, and faith. When our hearts are aligned with a meaningful purpose, we work diligently, remain resilient through setbacks, and trust God with the outcome. He often uses people, opportunities, and even unexpected challenges to shape our character and lead us toward our destiny.

Imagine yourself driving a car very fast and thinking that you are making so much progress, not knowing you are going in the wrong direction. The faster you go, the more you get away from where you should be.

For many young people today, the message is hustle harder, sleep less, and move faster. Especially on social media, it seems as though everyone your age is already winning, and suddenly your own progress starts to feel very, very slow.

In today’s culture, being slow is seen as laziness, and being busy is seen as success. This is because there is a dangerous assumption that speed means progress, not knowing that speed only matters when you are going in the right direction.

And that’s what hustle culture often forgets it encourages people to run without first asking, "Why am I even running?"
No reflection, no clarity but just movement, not knowing that this movement can lead to burnout.

A big reason this happens is because of comparison, and comparison is a thief of joy, as you all know. We measure our lives with people we don’t even know properly. And suddenly the pressure gets intense, and we start rushing our lives, trying to compress 10 years of growth into two, trying to arrive somewhere without knowing if that is the life we need.

The most important question of all is: Is this even the life that I want?

Life is not a journey against anyone else, but rather a journey against who you used to be and who you have become.

Are you wiser than last year?
Are you stronger than last year?
Are you more disciplined than last year?

Because this is the only comparison that really matters, and not the comparison we see on social media of a stranger on Facebook or some influencer on TikTok.

Remember, it is far better to move slowly in the right direction than to spend your life moving very fast in the wrong direction.

On Friday, 5th June 2026, I led the UNZA Anti-Corruption Commission Club for a tour at the Electoral Commission of Zambia.

As the Project Coordinator, it was encouraging to see our members engage with officers who walked us through the Commission’s mandate, the electoral process, and the safeguards in place to protect the integrity of our democracy. With the General Elections scheduled for 13th August 2026 we are left with a stronger sense of the role we must play as the citizens of Zambia to keep the process of Elections free and fair.

My sincere thanks to the Electoral Commission of Zambia for welcoming us and taking time to teach us. You didn’t just share information but you inspired us to be more responsible citizens.

As ACC-Club UNZA, we’re grateful for this opportunity and we hope this is just the start of more partnerships with you.

Today, as we commemorate Mother’s Day, we proudly honor and celebrate all the incredible mothers who have been instrumental to the growth, stability, and success of our organization.

Your unwavering support, guidance, encouragement, and tireless prayers have continued to strengthen and inspire us in our lives. Your sacrifices, wisdom, and love remain a solid foundation upon which many young people continue to rise and thrive.

Indeed, every child, just like ourselves, is blessed to have mothers whose presence, care, and prayers shape destinies and build communities.

Today, we celebrate you, appreciate you, and honor the vital role you play in society and in our lives.

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and mother figures.

Your impact shall never go unnoticed.

Today we we honour our Great Hero and founding Father Dr. Kenneth Kaunda who won independence not only through struggle, but through words that held Zambia together. Faced with 73 ethnic groups at independence in 1964, he gave us two guiding truths “One Zambia, One Nation” and “Tiyende pamodzi ndi mtima umo” Let us walk together with one heart.

Today, as we commemorate him, we measure ourselves by his legacy. His proverbs challenge us: Do we still choose unity over tribe? Do we still walk with one heart?

Honoring KK means living his words, not just remembering them. He planted the tree of peace and it is our duty to guard its fruit.
